A Little Bit About Me

Samantha Chittenden

Hello and Welcome!

I find that therapy begins by meeting you where you are at from a place of empathy, acceptance and through building an authentic and genuine relationship. I understand the vulnerability it takes to share in therapy so I strive to build a space that is non judgmental and one that will empower you to trust me to share what’s on your mind. This time in therapy is YOUR time and we will work together to get you to a place of healing by building the life that you deserve.

I am a Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner who graduated from the University of Nebraska Omaha and have been practicing therapy for four years. I am certified in Dialectical Behavior Therapy and often use this as the foundation in my sessions to collaborate and work together to reach your life worth living goals. I specialize in substance use, personality disorders and postpartum depression and anxiety. I also work with anxiety, depression and can help through life transitions. We will spend time learning new coping skills and strategies to help your daily living and find confidence in building your relationships, starting with the most important relationship, the relationship with yourself.

When I am not seeing clients I am spending my time with my family. My husband and I have been married for 3 years now and we have a toddler at home who keeps us on our toes and I wouldn’t have it any other way! I believe that kids can help us as adults to slow down and live in the moment which is something that I have come to appreciate these last few years. If you know, you know!

I have a passion for health and wellness and love my Crossfit Gym! I am goal directed so for me there is something so fulfilling about getting a new personal record on a lift. While most of my nights are spent at home watching Netflix with my husband, I am also a part of a book club and love to read the book of the month with some of my friends, whether that be historical fiction, thrillers or a good beach read.

That’s me and I hope to learn more about you and get to see first hand just how much therapy can make a difference for you!
